Phonetic Mapping Improvements

The phonetic mapping system is at the heart of our app. While we strive to provide accurate phonetic representations for all supported languages, we recognize that there's always room for improvement.

How to Suggest Phonetic Mapping Improvements

  1. If you find a mapping that could be improved, manually update the phonetic field for a test contact to verify your suggested mapping works better
  2. Send us your suggestion with the following information:
    • The language in question
    • The original character or combination
    • The current phonetic mapping
    • Your suggested improved mapping
    • A brief explanation of why this change would be beneficial

Note: For special character combinations (like diphthongs or digraphs), please be especially detailed in your explanation, as these can be particularly challenging to map correctly across different languages and dialects.

We're always looking to expand our language support. If you'd like to see support for a language that's not currently included in the app, please let us know!
