Getting Started

Phonetiq adds phonetic pronunciation hints to your contacts so Siri can correctly pronounce non-Latin names — no more butchered Greek, Russian, or Georgian names.

1

Grant Contact Access

Phonetiq needs permission to read and write phonetic name fields in your contacts.

2

Choose a Language

Select from 8+ supported scripts including Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Macedonian, Belarusian, and Georgian.

3

Process Contacts

Phonetiq adds phonetic hints to matching contacts automatically.

4

Test with Siri

Say "Hey Siri, call [name]" to verify the improved pronunciation.

Yes. Run Phonetiq periodically to process newly added contacts. It will skip contacts that already have phonetic hints.

Troubleshooting

Siri still mispronounces a name

Try removing and re-adding the phonetic hint for that contact. Also check that your iOS language setting matches the expected pronunciation language.

Contact access denied

Go to Settings > Phonetiq and enable the Contacts toggle. You may need to restart the app after changing permissions.

Processing seems stuck

Force-quit the app and retry. Large address books may take a moment to process — the app is working through each contact sequentially.
