File Carving Technology

Sentry Recovery uses file carving to find videos even when the file system is damaged:

  • Signature Detection: Scans for MP4 file headers (ftyp boxes)
  • Structure Analysis: Parses video container structure to find boundaries
  • exFAT Parsing: Recovers original filenames from directory entries when available
  • Cluster Chain Recovery: Follows file allocation chains for complete recovery

Recovery Limitations
